Modern Nature Design Building New School in Nepal

Ensuring that all production facilities operate without the involvement of child labor, Modern Nature Design prioritizes the well-being of its artisans. Modern Nature Design USA and MND Nepal have embarked on a meaningful endeavor to construct a new public school in rural Southern Nepal, near the Indian border. This is just one of several ways MND is committed to giving back to the Nepalese community.

The current state of the school

In addition to infrastructure development, Modern Nature Design extends support to the families of its artisans, providing essentials such as uniforms and computers for the children of factory workers. Moreover, the company has addressed the housing needs of over 30 weavers, constructing living quarters adjacent to its factory, as evidenced by images of the buildings with distinctive blue roofs. Recognizing the critical importance of access to healthcare, Modern Nature Design ensures that its workers receive quality medical services, alleviating their dependence on Nepal’s strained public health system. Through these collective efforts, when customers invest in Modern Nature Design’s Nepalese rugs, they contribute to a cycle of empowerment, enabling the master craftspeople and their families to thrive.
